"A Bridge Of Regrets"
So I am studying in a book
called "A Time For Wonder."
I um really like the part toward
the beginning where it states
"but I do understand what it is
like to stare at my past or try to
see in my future"
It's like standing on a bridge
that is burning while you are
on it. I can look back but what
good will that do me? I can look
ahead and see an unknown future.
I can move forward because
I don't know the outcome.
I know the outcome of my past.
That is why there is fire.
I can't relive in the past.
So why do I feel the need to
run back? maybe to save
pieces of it I want to remember?
but what good would that do
me today or in the future.
I don't know, but I better move
ahead before I get burned by the fire.
I can move forward because
I know God will be on the other
side. When I think of that
I want to walk ahead.
There's no sense to keep
old memories alive, that
are behind me, as long as
they are in my heart.
One must focus on what
lies ahead, and that is a
life with Jesus.
So to focus on my thoughts
I can get off that bridge
of regrets and adjust
my sights to what is
waiting on me up ahead.
I have Jesus and I need
to move ahead before
that bridge burns me.
